Our Building Process
At John Hill Construction, we work with you to develop solutions that incorporate your ideas and stay within your budget.
Our Custom Home Process
• Review client’s land/lot or search for property that will work for the client’s needs.
• Provide a rough estimate of home construction and site development costs based on other recent similar projects.
• Land/Lot is secured by purchase or contract.
• A design service agreement is initiated as well as the selection of an Architect/Designer and Engineer if needed.
• Drawings are at the initial stage of a rough floor plan and one front elevation. We will provide preliminary pricing.
• Drawings are then taken from mid-stage (floor plans and elevations) to final.
• The Design Service Process is completed resulting in a “permit ready” plan with a specification sheet that matches the plan and the clients feature level.
• A detailed estimate is done in order to provide the best possible fixed price on the Plan and Specification Sheet.
• Pricing is finalized with adjustments to Specifications and Plans as needed.
• The contract, specification sheet and plans are signed and Deposit is made.
• Client completes the financing process if needed. During that time we pull permits and schedule subs and suppliers to start construction.
• We extend an invitation to our Builder Trend program for scheduling, selections, and future options.
• Construction begins.
John Hill also specializes in mid to large-size remodeling projects. He has completed dozens of projects of varying budget and complexity. Most fall into the $100,000 — $400,000 range.
Because John Hill also focuses on building new homes, the company brings a highly-disciplined and organized process to the remodeling side of the business.
