Company History

1997
John Hill Construction began in 1997 with the focus of building homes on scattered lots, additions, and remodels. The company was started by John Hill and Patti, his wife of 30 plus years. Construction of someone’s home is a very personal endeavor. John and Patti believe the process should be an enjoyable experience.

John and Patti both were born and raised in the area. Patti is from White Oak and is an only daughter with two older brothers. She works part-time as a Registered Nurse at Bethesda North Hospital.

John was born and raised in Loveland, Ohio. The youngest of eleven children, raised by a father that believed in self-sufficiency, hard work and God. John’s construction experience and learning began while in college taking a full load of courses. John obtained a co-op position with Frank Messer and Sons. While there John worked on the River Bend Music Center, The Beach Water Park and a number of other industrial projects.

In the years that followed John transitioned from the more industrial projects to light commercial buildings and then moving into home construction as an Assistant Superintendent for Zicka Homes and then as a Superintendent for John Hueber Homes before starting John Hill Construction.

With the launch of John Hill Construction the company also became a member of the National Association of Home Builders. John Hill Construction still maintains this membership.

We purchased the O’Bannon Building in the Historic District of Loveland. During our renovation of this building we uncovered several interesting historical items, some dating back to 1883. One item was an envelope addressed to John O’Bannon a historic figure from the area. We use this building for an office. The City of Loveland awarded us the Business Enhancement of the year for the renovation of our office. The City has also given us a Beatification Award for maintaining the landscaping and flowers.
John Hill was appointed and served on the Loveland Citizens Advisory Zoning Committee to review the entire zoning code and serve as Vice Chair. He also served on the Redevelopment Advisory Committee for the City of Loveland.

2002
John served on the Storm Water Advisory Committee for the City of Loveland and assisted in the implementation of Federally Mandated standards for storm water control. During that time he also served on the Redevelopment Advisory Committee for the City of Loveland as well.

2003
John served on the board of trustees for the Loveland Area Chamber of Commerce. While on the board his role was to assist in in facilitating public debate on local issues. During that time he also served as Golf Outing Committee Chairperson. The Golf Outing is the largest fund raiser and most public event of the year raising money to support the Chamber’s two College Scholarships that are given away annually. John was awarded Trustee of the Year for his efforts.
