Company History

1997
John Hill Construction began in 1997 with the focus of building homes on scattered lots, additions, and remodels. The company was started by John Hill and Patti, his wife of 30 plus years. Construction of someone’s home is a very personal endeavor. John and Patti believe the process should be an enjoyable experience.  John and Patti both were born and raised in the area.  John, was the youngest of eleven children, raised by a father that believed in self-sufficiency, hard work and God.

With the launch of John Hill Construction the company also became a member of the National Association of Home Builders. John Hill Construction still maintains this membership.

2001
We purchased the O’Bannon Building in the Historic District of Loveland. During our renovation of this building we uncovered several interesting historical items, some dating back to 1883. One item was an envelope addressed to John O’Bannon a historic figure from the area. We use this building for an office. The City of Loveland awarded us the Business Enhancement of the year for the renovation of our office

2003
John served on the board of trustees for the Loveland Area Chamber of Commerce.

2007
Built the Joanne Richardson Library for the Loveland Historical Society.

2013
John Hill Construction became a member of the National Association of Home Builders and their prestigious Builder 20 Group. The Builder 20 Group is a networking program for residential construction CEOs helping members grow and improve their business by sharing and learning best practices to better serve their clients

2015
Ben graduated from College and joined the business as Assistant Superintendent.

2019
John Hill Constructions breaks ground on their 225th construction project. This particular job was for a repeat client in which we were enlisted by the owners to return for a fifth time. This is a record high in our large base of repeat work for clients.

2020
Ben Hill moves out of the field as Superintendent and into Sales.

2021
Adam Arnett joins the company as an estimator.
While he only came on board in 2021, Adam has been up close and personal with the company since 2015. As John’s son-in-law, he has had a unique perspective to observe the company grow and witness the impactful and life-changing projects that John Hill Construction delivers to their clients. In 2021, he approached John & Ben about leaving his career as a mechanical engineer to join this awesome team.

2023
Ben Hill officially becomes co-owner and partner of the business.
Ben was born and raised in Loveland and attended Loveland HS.  He currently resides in the area with his wife and 3 children.
Son of a residential construction company founder, Ben has felt at home around the job site from a young age. It was not unusual to see him on job sites doing odd jobs after school hours or during summer break, from sweeping floors to doing demo. The years went by, and it was time to ship off to college and leave the construction world behind. Ben chose to attend Eastern Kentucky University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications.

Upon graduating Ben wasted no time getting into the workforce.  Many young adults in this situation muddle their way through indecision and uncertainty, but Ben knew just what he wanted to do. He packed up his car and headed back north to Loveland, where he discussed with his father (and namesake of the company) on joining the company as a supervisor to learn the business. John, who was entertaining near-term plans to wind the company down and sail off into the proverbial sunset. Without Ben’s inspiration the company would be much smaller or not exist. However, the sincerity and excitement in Ben’s eyes alleviated any doubts. This one-man show was now officially a family
business.

That was in 2015. Since then, Ben has helped his father grow the company from a one-man operation to a full-fledged construction machine that helps dozens of families realize their dream homes every single year. Today an official owner and the head of client relations, Ben is fully taking the reigns of the company and looking to the future with great anticipation, where many a client’s dreams lay waiting to be realized.
