McDermott Home This home was unique not only in features but in process. The owners were living in England at the time and could only make it back to the states once during the construction. Consequently, nearly all product selections were made via e-mail, phone and brochures. Despite the unavoidable “hands off” process, the owners were elated with the final results. Amenities include the generous wrap-around porch that starts at the front door and snakes around to the rear door of the study. Other features include a two-story family room and study and spacious laundry room. The McDermott’s were transferred just two years after moving in, but they realized a nice profit despite the short timeframe. They credit the craftsmanship and expert detailing to the home’s strong resale value.
